From a Mennonite background, Mary has worn many hats. One time interior decorator, Administrative Assistant, funeral parlour worker, caterer, and lastly, Tea Room and Fine Tea purveyor, she finds the people she met through these venues fueled her imagination, some even ended up as characters in her books. Her first short story Tea Shop Memoirs- Stewart and Annabelle was shortlisted for a national Christian Writers’ award. This gave her the confidence to publish her first novel. She strives to put on the page real-to-life characters whose struggles mirror our own.
Her husband Kevin, also her biggest supporter, built a carriage house which turned out to be the perfect haven to continue this next chapter (wink, wink) in her life.
